Mercury® Financial Flexes Cybersecurity Muscles at CrowdStrike Fal.Con’s 2022 Conference

November 7, 2022

With the return of CrowdStrike Fal.Con’s 2022 conference to in-person in Las Vegas, Mercury® Financial’s cybersecurity team was invited to share their experience during an informative presentation on how they use CrowdStrike’s best-in-class cybersecurity platform to keep Mercury’s more than 1.5 million customers’ sensitive data safe.

Alex Arango, Mercury’s Deputy CISO, took part in a panel on how Mercury Financial uses CrowdStrike and Zscaler platforms in its zero-trust journey to boost productivity. Abiding by a strict “trust no one approach” that tightly controls who does and doesn’t have access to the Mercury network helps to keep customer data safe.

“Mercury customer data is already encrypted and we hold ourselves to the highest cybersecurity standards. Our cardmembers count on us to not only help them rebuild their credit so they can achieve their financial goals, but to take every precaution to prevent a breach as we work diligently to keep their personal and sensitive financial information safe. We’re proud to stay on the cutting edge of cybersecurity, and our partnerships with CrowdStrike and Zscaler help make this possible,” said Arango.

Arango and Mercury Financial CISO, Anthony Cunha, joined theCube to share more details with hosts Dave Nicholson and Dave Alante on how CrowdStrike fits into and fortifies Mercury’s cybersecurity stack.

We’re proud to take this holistic approach to cybersecurity to give our cardmembers peace of mind when it comes to their information,” shared Cunha. He elaborated in a CrowdStrike press release, saying, “With CrowdStrike Cloud Security, understanding our cloud posture and catching misconfigurations has been key to our risk mitigation strategy.”

Chief Information Officer at Mercury Financial, Arjun Thusu, also shared insights at Fal.Con as part of a panel focused on leveraging CrowdStrike to help keep customers safe from adversaries and cyberattacks. With over 170 adversaries tracked, CrowdStrike provides Mercury Financial with a deep understanding of who’s targeting sensitive information, the typical attack techniques that are currently being used, and why supercharging detection and response time with CrowdStrike is pivotal.
