James is the CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of Mercury® Financial. He is an industry leader in consumer finance, with deep experience in credit cards and a strong track record of meeting the needs of customers.

Before joining Mercury® Financial from TD Bank (US), James was Head of Consumer Product, responsible for the performance of TD’s retail product portfolio, product innovation, and delivery, as well as TD’s card business. He gained significant domestic and international experience in credit card and consumer lending during his ten-year career at JPMorgan Chase. Earlier in his career, he worked in consumer marketing at Johnson & Johnson and Proctor & Gamble. Mr. Peterson proudly served in the United States Army for five years and graduated from United States Military Academy at West Point and Carnegie Mellon University.

Marge Hannum is the Chief Risk Officer at Mercury^® Financial. She has over 30 years of experience in leadership positions in Risk, Controls, and Operations. As Chief Risk Officer, she is responsible for the second line of defense for Mercury Financial, which includes Credit, Operational Risk and Compliance. Prior to joining Mercury Financial, she held a number of leadership positions at JP Morgan Chase, including the Chief Risk Officer for the Chase Card Services Business. Before joining Chase, she spent fifteen years at Citi, where she held positions in Global Risk, Credit, and Operations. A graduate of the University of Delaware, she served on the Risk Management Roundtable for a number of years and currently is a Board Member and Head of the Finance and Audit Committees for the Wilmington Riverfront Development Corporation.

Steve is Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development for Mercury^® Financial. With over 30 years of experience in financial services, Steve leads corporate strategy and development to support efforts to best meet the needs of our customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Prior to leading corporate strategy, Steve served as CFO for Mercury® Financial for five years with responsibility for the overall financial management of the company, including accounting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, corporate treasury, and tax. Before joining Mercury, Steve was Chief Operating Officer for Barclays US. Throughout his 17-year tenure at Barclays he held various roles including leading the strategy, finance, treasury and retail deposit areas. He was also instrumental in helping build Juniper Financial. His resume includes MBNA, Sears and Ernst and Young.

Steve earned his B.S. in Accounting from The University of Delaware, and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Colin is the Chief Marketing Officer at Mercury® Financial, joining the team with over 20 years of marketing experience in telecom and financial services. Colin spearheads Mercury’s marketing efforts – driving awareness of the company’s mission to meet the needs of the middle-class and near-prime credit market. 

Prior to joining Mercury® Financial, Colin served as Chief Marketing Officer of Snap Finance. He has also held roles as VP of US Marketing for Funding Circle (B2B lending), Head of Marketing at Metromile (Insurtech, acquired by Lemonade), and Senior Marketing Director for LendingTree, where he oversaw CRM efforts. He is also the former General Manager of Direct Marketing for DISH Network.

Colin began his career in political communications, specializing in direct marketing for political candidates and ballot initiatives.

He holds a B.A. in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Irvine.

Atul Khemuka is the Chief Growth Officer at Mercury^® Financial. He has over 16 years of experience in financial services and is responsible for directing acquisition and existing customer analytics, along with acquisition and portfolio campaign execution.

Before joining Mercury^® Financial, Atul was the VP of Decision Sciences at Barclay’s, managing statistical model development, digital and partner analytics and existing customer strategy development.

He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida with a focus on Operations Research.

Jason is the CFO of Mercury^® Financial. With more than 20 years of experience in advisory and principal roles, his career has spanned strategy, banking, and corporate development for financial institutions.

Before joining Mercury Financial, Jason served as the Americas Head of Strategy for Barclays, leading a team focused on the continued growth of its global investment banking, global markets, and US consumer banking businesses. Prior to that role, Jason spent nearly two decades in various roles in the Financial Institutions Groups at Barclays and previously Lehman Brothers, most recently having served as co-head of the Banks and Specialty Finance sectors. During this time, Jason advised on over $100 billion in mergers and acquisitions and equity capital transactions across multiple sectors, with a particular focus on financial technology and payments. Jason began his investment banking career at Lehman Brothers. He earned his MBA from the University of Chicago and his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University.

Paul is the Chief Operating Officer at Mercury® Financial, bringing over 25 years of customer operations experience at several US and Canadian banks. Paul will lead the Operations and Collections teams.

Prior to joining Mercury® Financial, Paul was Senior Vice President of Collections for TD Bank and previously led the Collections and Recovery business at JPMorgan Chase.

Paul began his career in the Canadian Army as an Infantry Officer and a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company.

He is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada with a BA in Honors History and of Oxford University with a Master of Letters in Modern History. Paul and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Wilmington, DE, and they have three sons in Texas and New York.

Andy Shah is the Chief Technology Officer at Mercury^® Financial. Andy has more than 20 years of experience in the various financial, advertisement, eCommerce and telecommunication industries. As CTO, Andy is responsible for Mercury^® Financial’s technology stack and IT infrastructure planning, strategy, and execution.

Prior to joining Mercury^® Financial, Andy was CTO of Algebraix Data. Prior to Algebraix Data, Andy was AVP of Engineering at Westell Technologies and held various senior technology leadership positions in past with Sears and Motorola.

Andy has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from IIT, Chicago.

Tom has over 25 years of experience in credit policy in the credit card industry. Prior to joining Mercury® Financial, Tom was with Alliance Data where he was instrumental in establishing a co-brand program and was responsible for credit policy for the cobrand, private label, and installment loan portfolios. Before this he was a Senior Vice President with Citi for 8 years and a Managing Director at JP Morgan Chase for 10 years where he was responsible for acquisition credit policy during the 2008 recession for the Card Services group.

Tom has a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and a M.A. in Physical Science from West Chester University.

Susan Steinthal is Chief Legal Officer of Mercury® Financial. She has nearly 20 years of experience providing legal advice and assistance to financial services companies. As Chief Legal Officer, Susan is responsible for managing all legal affairs for Mercury Financial.

Prior to joining Mercury Financial, Susan was an EVP & Deputy General Counsel at Citizens Bank and head of the Client Advisory Services Legal team. There, she covered the Consumer and Commercial Banking lines of business as well as Business Services and Corporate Development. Earlier in her time at Citizens, Susan served as the head of Consumer Legal. Previously, she spent over 11 years at Citigroup, first as a member of the litigation group and eventually becoming the Chief of Staff to the General Counsel and General Counsel for the International Retail Banking business.

Susan started out as an associate at the law firms Richards Spears Kibbe & Orbe and Cravath Swaine & Moore. She earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone scholar, and her A.B. from Princeton University. She currently serves as a member of the SIFMA Compliance & Legal Society and the NYC Bar Association Banking Law Committee.

Scott Logeman is the Chief Human Resources Officer of Mercury^® Financial. Prior to Mercury^® Financial, he led the HR efforts at iHeartMedia where he was Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

Scott has over 20 years of proven experience in leading fast-paced organizations undergoing change and strong growth like Mercury^® Financial. Scott has a diverse background having started his career with Accenture and then Frito-Lay. He continued his career working in various leadership roles in human resources with companies in the telecom, energy, and media industries.

Scott has his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jerry is the Corporate Treasurer of Mercury^® Financial. He has over 30 years of experience in consumer financial services primarily focused on the securitization of credit card, auto, student loan and installment loans, capital and liquidity management. Jerry is responsible for corporate liquidity, investments and balance sheet strategies.

Before Mercury^® Financial, Jerry was the Head of Capital Markets for Petal Card, Senior Director at EBay, Inc., SVP, Capital Markets at The First Marblehead Corporation, Managing VP at Capital One Financial Corporation, and Senior VP at MBNA America Bank.

Jerry holds a B.S. in Accounting from The University of Delaware.

Dan is the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at Mercury^® Financial. Dan has over 20 years of experience in financial services. As Head of FP&A, he has responsibility for the overall strategic planning and financial analysis of the company.

Prior to joining Mercury^® Financial, Dan was the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis for Citigroup’s North America Branded Cards business. Throughout his 20-year tenure at Citigroup, he held various Finance roles in both the Retail Services and Branded Cards portfolios.

He has a B.A. in Finance from The University of Wisconsin – Madison, and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
